  20. How about this then:

  22. 1) look for the defaults file in $APPDEFAULTS
  23. 2) look for the defaults file in $PATH
  24. 3) look for the defaults file in <boot-drive>:\defaults
  25. 4) look for the defaults file in <boot-drive>:\
  26.  
  27. That way, if you don't have environment variables set, you can still keep
  28. even more crap off of the root of your boot disk.

  30. Maybe there should be a 2.5) look in current directory, or maybe a 0.5)
  31. for that.
